When you post a gig as a Requester, we collect:

— The address where the gig is to be performed
— Your gig description and deliverables
— Your stated deadline and any restricted hours
When you sign up as a Quester prospect, we collect:
— Your full name
— Your email address
— Your phone number
— Your zip code
We do not collect or store your payment card information. All payment processing is handled by Stripe, Inc., our third-party payment processor. Stripe's privacy policy governs the collection and use of your payment information.
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
When you use the Platform, we may automatically collect:
— IP address and approximate location
— Browser type and version
— Operating system
— Pages visited and time spent on each page
— Referring URLs
— Device type and identifiers
2.3 Information from Third Parties
We receive information from the following third-party services:
— Stripe: Payment confirmation status, last four digits of the card used, and card type for display purposes in your gig confirmation
— Google Maps: Address validation and geocoding results to confirm your gig address is within our service area
— Twilio: Delivery status of SMS notifications sent to your phone number
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
(a) Gig Fulfillment: To process your gig submission, match it with available Fulfillers in your area, and coordinate completion of the gig;
(b) Payment Processing: To initiate and process payments through Stripe, issue refunds when applicable, and maintain accurate financial records;
(c) Communications: To send you gig status updates, including confirmation that your gig was received, accepted, and completed, via SMS or other contact methods you provide;
(d) Service Area Verification: To verify that your gig address falls within our current service area using Google Maps geocoding;
(e) Platform Improvement: To analyze usage patterns, diagnose technical issues, and improve the Platform's features and user experience;
(f) Legal Compliance: To comply with applicable laws, regulations, legal processes, and government requests;
(g) Safety and Security: To detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent transactions, abuse, and other harmful activity;
(h) Marketing Communications: To send you updates about new features, service area expansions, and other Sidequest news, where you have opted in to receive such communications. You may opt out at any time by contacting support@sidequestgigs.com.
We do not sell your personal information. We share your information only in the following circumstances:
4.1 With Fulfillers
When a Fulfiller claims your gig, we share your first name and the general neighborhood of your gig address. Your full address is only shared with the Fulfiller after they have claimed your gig and are actively working to complete it. We do not share your phone number or email address with Fulfillers without your consent.
4.2 With Service Providers
We share information with third-party service providers who perform services on our behalf, subject to confidentiality obligations:
— Stripe, Inc.: Payment processing and fraud prevention
— Google Maps Platform: Address geocoding and service area verification
— Twilio Inc.: SMS notification delivery
— Anthropic PBC: AI-powered gig card generation (your gig description is processed by Anthropic's Claude AI to help structure your gig card)
— Amazon Web Services: Cloud hosting and data storage
4.3 For Legal Reasons
We may disclose your information if we believe disclosure is necessary to:
(a) Comply with applicable law, regulation, legal process, or government request;
(b) Enforce our Terms of Service or this Privacy Policy;
(c) Protect the rights, property, or safety of Sidequest, our users, or the public;
(d) Detect, investigate, or prevent fraud or other illegal activity.
4.4 Business Transfers
In the event of a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of all or a portion of our assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such change by posting a notice on the Platform.
4.5 With Your Consent
We may share your information for other purposes with your explicit consent.
We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required by law.
— Gig records: Retained for 7 years for financial and legal compliance purposes
— Phone numbers and names: Retained while your activity is on the platform and for 2 years following your last gig submission
— Quester prospect information: Retained until you request deletion or for 2 years from signup, whichever comes first
— Payment records: Retained for 7 years as required by financial regulations
— Usage and log data: Retained for 12 months
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including:
(a) Encryption of data in transit using TLS (Transport Layer Security);
(b) Encryption of sensitive data at rest;
(c) Access controls limiting employee and system access to personal data on a need-to-know basis;
(d) Regular security assessments of our infrastructure;
(e) PCI DSS compliance through Stripe for all payment card data.

7.3 Opt-Out of Marketing
You may opt out of receiving marketing communications from us at any time by contacting support@sidequestgigs.com or by following the unsubscribe instructions in any marketing message.
7.4 SMS Communications
By providing your phone number during account signup, sign-in, or gig submission, you consent to receiving transactional SMS messages from Sidequest. These include one-time passcodes (OTP) for phone verification and account authentication, as well as gig status updates such as confirmation, acceptance, and completion notifications. We do not send marketing or promotional content via SMS, and we do not share your phone number with third parties for marketing purposes.
Message frequency varies based on your activity. Standard message and data rates may apply. You may opt out of SMS communications at any time by replying STOP to any Sidequest message. Reply HELP for assistance, or contact us at support@sidequestgigs.com. Opting out of verification messages may prevent you from completing account signup or sign-in.
The Platform may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party services you access through the Platform.
The Platform is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If we learn that we have collected information from a child under 18, we will delete that information promptly. Sidequest uses artificial intelligence technology provided by Anthropic PBC ("Claude") to help Requesters structure their gig descriptions into formatted gig cards. Your gig description and related inputs are transmitted to Anthropic's servers for processing. Anthropic's privacy policy governs its handling of this data. Sidequest does not use your gig content to train AI models.
We use essential cookies and similar tracking technologies to operate the Platform, including session cookies that maintain your state as you navigate the Platform. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. You may disable cookies in your browser settings, though this may affect your ability to use certain features of the Platform.
As a Florida-based company serving Florida residents, we are committed to compliance with applicable Florida privacy laws. Florida residents have the right to:
(a) Know what personal information we collect and how we use it;
